After many years I took my fishing buddy to Weatherby’s and we were not disappointed. Jeff and his staff were awesome from the home cooked breakfasts, to campfire lunches to fabulous dinner selections the trip was 6 STARs. The cabins are awesome, both rustic and accommodating and nothing beats a cold beverage of choice after a great day of fishing. We fished the St Croix River with the United States on one side and Canada on the other side, how can you be disappointed. Factor in abundant smallmouth bass, you have a perfect day. 3rd and 4th Machias Lakes were awesome with bald eagles swooping down to grab their lunch too, we had a fish fry lunch on White Perch and the afternoons filled with fighting bass. Add in a couple of Bull Moose bellowing… It was the perfect trip!! If you are looking for the best fishing trip, look no further than Grand Lake Stream and Weatherby’s. THANK YOU JEFF!!!
I went to Weatherby’s with no expectations other than to catch up with members of my husband’s family (some of whom I hadn’t met) and fish. I knew nothing about the place other than that his family loved it there and had been visiting for years—like since the 1960’s. After two fantastic days, I can tell you what without a doubt awaits you here: great food, great fish, and if you bring them with you, great family times. So glad I had the honor of being invited to such a tried and true gem!
A good friend made the reservations for Mid July at the 100 + year old Weatherby’s Lodge. The owner Jeff McEvoy made us very welcome even after a long flight delay, arriving at 11 PM. The next two days he was our guide through some of the most beautiful lakes in our country. Always pleasant and vigilant, he knew where fish were and we caught many Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Pickerel and White Perch. The shore lunches he prepared can’t be topped. At the Lodge we were served fine dinners by well trained staff. Of course we enjoyed the traditional Maine Lobster Bake. Lounging in the porch rocking chairs created good conversation. I can truthfully say Weatherby’s was the best fishing trip experience I ever enjoyed. Thanks, Jeff and Staff !
