Weatherby’s is a family friendly Maine sporting lodge and we cater to needs of kids and parents regularly. We believe that sharing a fishing vacation with your child or grand child is one of the greatest activities you can choose and it is time that will remembered forever. Although not required, we recommend fishing with one of our guides either on the lakes or in Grand Lake Stream to maximize your and your child’s experience. Leave the fishing lines and bait or flies to us, that way you can enjoy your own time on the lake or stream along side your youngster.
You say you don’t fish? Within close proximity to our lodge we have access to a public beach and dock on Grand Lake for great swimming, our local land trust has developed several hiking trails just outside of town and the mountain bike opportunities are endless. Within a short drive of Weatherby’s you can visit Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge or Eastport and East Quoddy Head, the eastern most point in the United States. From here, whale and bird watching cruises are available or you can spend the afternoon sailing on a schooner in Passamaquoddy Bay. Opportunities are virtually limitless as you explore the roads less traveled on the down east Maine Coast.
Visit our specials page to learn about how your kids can stay FREE in July!
aOther weekends of significance for families include the Folk Art Festival Weekend the last full weekend in July and the celebration of the 4th of July with a (short) parade, fireworks and planned children’s games and activities.
