Downeast Lakes Land Trust's mission is to ensure long-term economic and environmental well-being of the Downeast Lakes region through the conservation and exemplary management of its forests and waters.

In The News:

The Downeast Lakes Land Trust and the Woodie Wheaton land trust, together with NEFF are working to protect 342,000 acres of forestland, 78,800 acres of pristine lakes and 54,000 acres of productive wetlands. The Downeast Lakes Forestry Partnership involves two fee purchases of critical river and lake shorefront and acquisition of a sustainable forestry easement on over 312,000 acres.
